Small producers who fall below the 1 tonne obligation threshold for portable batteries have to register with the appropriate agency (EA, SEPA or EHS) and pay a £30 administration fee and confirm their tonnage.

Large producers who fall above the 1 tonne obligation threshold for portable batteries have to (via their BCS) pay a £680 appropriate agency (EA, SEPA or EHS) registration fee and confirm their tonnage.
