Who is a producer?
A producer is a company putting electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) that is within the scope of the WEEE Regulations onto the UK market. You are a producer for the purposes of the WEEE Regulations if you are:
- A manufacturer of EEE, selling under your own brand in the UK
- A business based in the UK selling under your own brand EEE manufactured by another person
- A professional importer introducing EEE to the UK market
- A business based in the UK that places EEE in other European Member states by means of distance selling
‘Sell’ means putting EEE on the market through making a product available for first use. If you are an obligated producer of EEE you have several obligations to meet. Find out more about these obligations.
