Black Friday: Make it a little greener!

Black Friday: Make it a little greener!

This Black Friday, we’re looking to make things a little greener by reminding those planning on replacing some of their everyday electrical items in the mega sales that their old electronic and electrical equipment needs to be disposed of properly.

If you haven’t heard of Black Friday and Cyber Monday – you might want to get clued up – and fast. Both are days of super sales which originated in the US to mark the start of Christmas shopping after Thanksgiving.

Retailers, including tech giants and electronics retailers, slash their prices meaning both rampage and chaos among the general public, and that there’s basically no better time to replace your dodgey office computers.

WEEE collections this Black Friday

However, in all the fun and bargain hunting, it is important that we ensure that our used, no longer wanted products, especially waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), ends its life in the correct place.

If you are updating your office’s electrical items this Black Friday, or you simply have a pile of waste electric and electronic equipment building up in the store room, we can help!

Comply Direct can organise WEEE collections for any WEEE producer. This year we’ve even got a little Black Friday deal of our own.

Enquire about a WEEE collection before the 4 December and book it with Comply Direct before the 24 December to be entered in to a prize draw for a £75 John Lewis voucher.

Please ensure you read all Terms & Conditions before enquiring about a WEEE collection. T&Cs can be found here.

All Black Friday WEEE collection enquiries must be made via our dedicated Black Friday WEEE Collection enquiry form. Click here to enquire.

If you would prefer to call us, please ensure you quote ‘recycle black friday’ when you are enquiring.

WRAP

As individuals, it is just as important that we remember to recycle correctly when getting rid of our old products.

Last year, WRAP announced a new tech trade-in scheme which aims to make the electronics industry more sustainable and environmentally friendly now allows shoppers to trade in old laptops and televisions for cash or money off vouchers towards newer models.

See our story on WRAP’s new recycling initiative here.

You can also visit our recycling room for more information about recycling at home.

For more information about WEEE recycling or Comply Direct’s WEEE collection service, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the Comply Direct WEEE compliance team.
