Comply Direct host free climate event for small businesses looking to start their sustainability journey!
Comply Direct, Skipton based leading Environmental Consultancy and Compliance scheme is supporting local businesses adapt to change in the environmental landscape, by hosting a climate event on Broughton Hall Estate on 14 July; The Climate Emergency - how to start your sustainability journey as a small business!
Comply Direct, outlined within their vision, aims to lead, inspire, and educate to positively impact society and the environment, therefore, are excited to take this opportunity to connect with small businesses. This will be the consultancy’s second in-person event since the Covid-19 pandemic, following a successful event in April, which was aimed specifically at local businesses, to help them better understand the actions that can be taken to act against climate change. Following feedback, this event intends to look at the smaller actions that SMEs across the country can make to grow their business, with environmental initiatives at the forefront. Liz Wood, Sustainability Project Leader at Comply Direct expands on this;
“The consumer landscape is changing and following COP26, businesses have been under increasing pressures to make drastic changes. It is in response to this that we have seen an increasing number of enquiries from smaller business who want to grow their business with environmental initiatives at the heart of their company, which is amazing to hear, and we are excited at Comply Direct to be able to guide them on this unfamiliar journey.”
The event will take place on Thursday 14 July at Avalon, a State-of-the-Art Wellbeing facility on Broughton Hall Estate, near Skipton North Yorkshire, from 10am-1pm. This event is an exciting opportunity for small businesses; to highlight the importance of tackling climate action and the overall benefits for companies and the environment. Sivan Kamiel-Skeete who is overseeing the event, summarises this with an overview of the agenda;
“During the event we aim to provide insights into the climate emergency as well as give background as to why it is happening. We will provide details of the different drivers for implementing change, highlight the small steps that can be taken and where to start; the pathway to Net Zero. Finally, we will look briefly into how to avoid greenwashing, and the importance, to ensure any environmental claims are a true reflection of the work carried out within a company. The event will carry a relatable and exciting theme and attendees will take part in a small, fun activity to close the event alongside the Q&A!”
