Comply Direct pledge to Net Zero

Comply Direct have taken proactive steps towards contributing to meeting the UK’s 2050 net zero carbon target by making a 'Pledge to Net Zero'; the environmental sector's first commitment scheme

Recognition of the need for organisations from the environmental services sector to take a leadership role in the transition to a Net Zero carbon economy was the key driver behind the pledge's establishment. The pledge requires science-based targets from its signatories to tackle greenhouse gas emissions within their organisations.

Comply Direct have committed to a target of a 4.2% carbon emissions reduction per annum, in line with the Paris Agreement to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees.

The UK's commitment to achieving net zero by 2050 is highly important and also ambitious, with organisations playing a key role in ensuring we can successfully meet this target.

All signatories of the pledge commit to the following:

  1. Set and commit to deliver a greenhouse gas target in line with either a 1.5°C or well below 2°C climate change scenario – covering buildings and travel as a minimum.

  2. Publicly report greenhouse gas emissions and progress against this target each year.

  3. Publish one piece of research/thought-leadership each year on practical steps to delivering an economy in line with climate science and in support of net zero carbon.
