Comply Direct Sporting Challenge 2021

Comply Direct are very proud and excited to announce, our overall total raised from our 2021 annual sporting challenge is £4,150 for the charity Mind.

After an uncertain year, our annual sporting challenge took place on 7 and 8 October and the team took on an especially challenging 50km hike in the lake district over two days, including Helvellyn and the highly demanding Striding Edge.

This challenge, originally booked for the 8 and 9 July (however due to COVID-19 was postponed) was exceptionally tough due to the adverse weather conditions, causing the team to face freezing temperatures, strong winds and non stop rain in addition to the gruelling terrain of the Lake District.

Louise Bailey, Talent & Culture Coordinator at Comply Direct who took part in the challenge, expressed her thoughts:

“This was one of the toughest challenges Comply Direct have ever faced. Not only did the team test their physical endurance with a 50 km walk and over 2500m in ascent to climb throughout the two days, but they also faced the mental challenge of battling through the wet and cold October weather.

The resilience we saw from the team was incredible, the way they pushed themselves out of their comfort zone, supported each other and powered on even with soaking wet feet is a testament to their commitment to the cause. Although we didn’t get to see many views on the first day due to the rain and fog, we were treated on the second day to the breath-taking views from the top of Helvellyn.

We’re incredibly proud of everyone who took part and are extremely grateful to each and every person who donated. The proceeds will be going to Mind whose work and support is needed now more than ever. The past year has been tough for everyone's mental wellbeing but especially those facing mental health problems.”

Mind's purpose is to provide everybody who has a mental health problem with the support and respect they deserve and need. Mind deliver advice and support with the aim of empowering all those suffering with a mental health issue. Campaigning is also a huge part of Mind's mission, and their key aims are to improve the services they provide, increase awareness, and promote understanding of the illnesses that are often dismissed or ignored by many people due to the common absence of physical symptoms.

Thank you again to everyone who donated to our Sporting Challenge, it is hugely appreciated and motivated the team to the finish line!
