Mental Health Awareness Week is taking place this week (14 to 20 May 2018) and this year the theme is on stress and how we are coping with it. With work-related stress an issue in the UK, Comply Direct who strive to have a mentally healthy workplace, are this week focusing on managing stress.
Mental Health Awareness Week 2018 is a great time to think about how we can all address the causes of work-related stress. Stress is part of everyday life, but when you are overwhelmed by stress it can lead to mental health problems.
Jessica Aldersley, Comply Direct's HR and Operations Manager leads our own “A Better You” Health and Wellbeing Programme which includes advice and tips, one-off sessions e.g. yoga, pilates, 1-1 diet and nutrition advice, support with individual needs and motivators. As part of this programme and in line with Mental Health Awareness Week Jessica has planned a week of focusing on managing stress for the whole team to get involved in. All staff are taking part in a 'Mental Health - coping with stress' session and staff have the opportunity to relax and relieve stress with a choice of 3 treatments including an Indian head massage.
Additionally, Comply Direct has signed up to the Charter for Employers who are Positive About Mental Health. The Charter is voluntary and will help Comply Direct continue the commitment to the mental wellbeing and improving the working lives of our staff.
