Proposals are being invited from Local Authorities and partner organisations for access to funds to support projects to improve WEEE collections, WEEE re-use or recycling.
A total of £665,000 has been made available for projects, raised from membership of the Distributor Take Back Scheme and via the compliance fee paid by producers in 2016.
Funds paid into the Distributor Take Back Scheme and the compliance fee are intended to support and promote increased re-use and recycling of waste electrical equipment. The deadline for applications is Friday 29 September. If you would like any further information about how to apply for the funds, please contact Comply Direct.
In 2016 Comply Direct did not use the compliance fee to meet its member’s obligation, rather this was met through overseeing a required level of WEEE recycling.
