Is the company (or group of companies) registered within the United Kingdom?

The UK includes England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, but does not include The Channel Islands or the Isle of Man.

Does the company (or group of companies) operate within England or Wales and have a presence in either of these companies which is used for the purpose of the business?

(A presence might be an office or PO box which is used for the purpose of the business)

Does the company (or group of companies) have a turnover of more than £2 million?

(Based on the last available accounts filed with Companies House. For a group of companies this would be the combined turnover of the group)

Did the company (or group of companies) handle more than 50 tonnes of packaging materials or packaging in the last calendar year?

In order for a company to be described as handling packaging materials or packaging, they need to have legal ownership of the packaging and also have performed an activity on the packaging materials or packaging. An activity would be any of the following:

• Manufacturing or producing raw materials for use in the production of packaging.

• Converting raw materials in to packaging materials.

• Packing/filling goods in to packaging.

• Selling or supplying goods which have packaging associated with them.

• Importing any packaging raw materials, empty packaging or finished goods containing packaging in to the UK.
