Zero waste 2020

There are 13 commitments for the UK to work towards a zero waste economy
in 2020 has led to mounting pressure for companies to take action
and improve their waste management strategy

Zero waste 2020

The waste hierarchy was transposed into UK law through The Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2011 and came into force on 28th September 2011.

The new laws specified that all businesses and organisations now have a requirement to take all reasonable measures to:

  • Prevent waste
  • Apply the waste hierarchy when transferring waste

This new law, coupled with the 13 commitments for the UK to work towards a zero waste economy in 2020 has led to mounting pressure for companies to take action and improve their waste management strategy.

Simply managing your waste is no longer sufficient. As Comply Direct are committed to helping its customers to constantly find a better way, we have developed a waste and recycling service to support our customers on their journey to achieve Zero Waste to Landfill.

What does Zero Waste to Landfill mean?

Zero Waste to Landfill is defined as ‘the diversion of ALL waste from being land filled’.

Through analysis of each waste stream, suitable end of life solutions can be determined, avoiding costly landfill sites, this could be through re-use, recycling and even redesign of products.

Packaging compliance is a complicated process but Comply Direct make it as uncomplicated as they can which is invaluable to us!
