Associated Independent Stores, or AIS for short, is the largest independent non-food buying group of its kind in the UK and Ireland. The Group overall has more than 350 members with a combined retail turnover of around £2 billion out of over 1,000 stores. The Group supports independent retailers ranging from single high street shops to flagship department stores and specialist retailers across the UK, Ireland and Channel Islands. Included within the Group are specialist divisions such as Intersport UK and Flooring One. It is imperative that as a large business we adhere to the regulations imposed by law in a professional manner, we therefore chose Comply Direct as our official partner to manage our waste packaging and WEEE submissions in 2012.

Recently we have been through an internal change and therefore required further training within our organisation, Comply Direct stepped up to the task and provided a full day’s workshop to my team and to the business. The training was delivered to a very high standard and the feedback I have received from my team has been fantastic and has clearly made people more aware of our requirements. If any person in the workshop was unsure on any of the complex regulation’s the staff from Comply Direct took time to explain and ensured that their answers were fully understood. My team will certainly be taking part in the online training in the future that Comply Direct offer, this will ensure that the knowledge internally will improve and will help to speed up the data collection. I personally have been on the on-line training and found it to be very productive and can see the potential that this will provide to our business in the future.
